THE “fossil fuel adjustment factor” now being paid by customers of Virginia Electric and Power Company will decline in May. Robert S. Gay, Vepco manager of rates, said the fuel adjustment for Virginia jurisdictional customers billed on a monthly basis will dip below a penny per kilowatthour for the first time since January, or about 27 per cent below the March peak of nearly 1.3 cents per kilowatthour.
Gay said a residential customer using 750 kilowatthours per month in May will pay $7.03 in fuel adjustment charges, a decrease of $2.62 from that paid for the same amount of electricity in March. Tlie same customer’s total monthly bill will decrease about eight per cent, from $31.80 in March to $29.18 in May, he said.
