THE FEDERAL Rural Development Act of 1972, Title IV, was funded as a pilot effort'this week, with the State of Virginia granted $53,600 to provide assistance to rural fire departments. State Forester W.F. Custard, in making this announcement, stated that the Virginia Division of Forestry has been charged with the administration of the Virginia grant and will absorb the administrative costs to allow the full $53,600 to be available to the rural fire departments.
