Mason Carbaugh, VCAC Commissioner, said, “I think this report shows that although supplies will be tight this year, there should be adequate canning jar lids to meet the need if home canners will exercise prudence. I urge consumers to buy only the supplies they will need, as they are needed, and refrain from hoarding.”
THE REPORT said that unlike last year, there were no problems reported with the supply of home canning jars with lids attached. Additional manufacturers are making jars for home canning this year, also.
