Sportswise we’re doing well. At the district track meet Saturday those who placed in their respective fields were Lynnell Prudhum and Janelle Prudhum; Janelle placing second in the 100 yard dash and winning the 440 run, setting a new district record time of 60.4.
Others placing were Natalie Swindler; Eleanor Phillips, the mile relay team consisting of Dawn Keithley, Janice Aylor, Wendy Jenkins and Janelle Purdhum. The relay team placed fourth and had a new school record of 4.24.
The men did equally well with Curtis Nichols in third place in the 440 and Fred Frye fifth in the 100 yard dash. Both of them will represent Rappahannock this Friday in the Regionals. Go get ’em, boys!
Baseball also looks good. We defeated RMA 17 to 1 and there are more games, the last home game being Friday the 13th. Come out and support your team. They’ll appreciate it a lot. At this game the senior class prizes will be awarded. They are a CB; a digital AM-FM clock radio; a Trimlite Instamatic camera and a $25 Savings Bond.
