Out of eight percent total increase in school costs for the coming year, 3.1 per cent is due entirely to kindergarten, according to Norton’s figures. He added that increased costs of having a full-time Superintendent of Schools for the first time in Rappahannock would be partially offset by state funding of half the salary of the assistant superintendent. Previously, county funds had paid the entire salary.
