Rappahannock residents responded immediately to Lion’s Club emergency appeals for assistance to Southwest Virginia flood victims last month.
Three full pick-up truck loads of canned goods, cleaning supplies and clothing were delivered to the Northern Virginia collection point at Dumfries. County elementary and high school students, directed by principals Mary Quaintance and Dennis Wingfield, brought in 450 cans of food.
Rappahannock Lion’s Club president Bill Racer expressed appreciation for the generous donations by county citizens. r
