Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant Maynard A. Clipper Jr., whose wife Edith is the daughter of Mr., and Mrs. Buford Edwards of Amissville, has been promoted to his present rhnk while serving at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, N. C. He joined the Marine Corps in July 1953.
