The fourth grade at Rappahannock County Elementary School placed first in the state competition of the Virginia Georgraphical Society held April 29 at Rockbridge County High School, Fairfield. Their unique map of Virginia fashioned on a background of rust burlap was outlined with rick-rack, braid and yam and captured first place in the fourth and fifth grade division. Instructors are Mrs. Earl Edmonds and Mrs. Grade Caliandro.
