Athletic programs in the county got a boost from the Rappahannock School Board at the June meeting. The Board approved use of school grounds for the Rappahannock Athletic Associations baseball program and accepted the Panther Athletic League’s proposal to raise money for a high school track.
Chairman E. N. Montague said that plans for the track looked feasible if rock ledges on the property didn’t interfere with construction.
Superintendent O. A. Norton told Athletic League spokesman Henry Hudson that he had a contour map for part of the site, if that would be helpful.
