There are two reports on rural development maybe of some value to the county. They ought to be brought to the attention of the County Supervisors and planning commission as well as citizens. Both are national studies of the problems of urbanizing rural areas. The report Sub-Dividing Rural America: Impacts of Recreational Lot and Second Home Development is a study of rural recreation developments throughout the country. It tries to Identify the probable impacts of developments. It contains a number of action recommendations which may be of interest to the county although they are of necessity somewhat general to be applicable nationwide.
