Army Private First Gass William L. Sharp, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Sharp, Washington, Va., recently was assigned to the 394th Transportation Battalion in Germany. He is an aircraft electrician in the battalion.

Pfc. Sharp entered the Army in October 1976.

He attended the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg.

Army Private John E. Allot Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Allen Sr., Boston, Va., recently completed training as a cannoneer under the One Station Unit Training (OSUT) Program at Ft. Sill, Okla.

OSUT is a 13-week period which combines basic combat training with advanced individual training.

Students learned the duties of a howitzer or gun section crewman and received instruction in handling ammunition, setting fuses and preparing charges, communications and maintenance.

Pvt. Allen entered the Army in February of this year.

He is a 1975 graduate of Bowie (Md.) High School.
