Statewide Reaction
The Compensation Board’s ruling sparked a statewide reaction as counties faced total responsibility for mileage bills that had previously been paid twothirds by the state. This reaction resulted in passage of Senate Bill 272 without a single dissenting vote in either the House or the Senate.
The bill authorizes twothirds reimbursement to localities for mileage accumulated in patrolling.
