The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will hold a Mass Meeting at 12:00 noon, Saturday, April IS at the Washington Court House. This meeting, following the Virginia Democratic Party Plan, will select four delegates and two alternates from the county to attend the State Democratic Party Convention in Williamsburg June 9, where the Democratic Party Candidate for the U. S. Senate race this fall will be nominated.
The Mass Meeting will select in addition, four delegates and two alternates to attend a Seventh Congressional District Convention set for June 3 in Charlottesville. The purpose of this convention is to nominate a Congressional candidate for the fall elections.
The traditional Democratic primary election process for selection of the party’s senatorial candidate was rejected by the State Central Committee and a convention was called.
