has also created a tea set made from several different kinds of eggs. At Christmas, her six-foot tree is covered with egg decorations and at present, her Easter egg tree adorns the dining room table.
Gertie loves making her special eggs for church bazaars and for friends. At Christmas, she presented Rappahannock Sheriff W. A. Buntin with a law enforcement egg. This contained the picture of a badge and the picture of the Sheriff and each of his deputies. Sheriff Buntin was so thrilled with the gift that he had her make a copy for everyone on his staff. Gertrude Poling lives in Amissville with her husband Paul, a retired engineer for C&P Telephone. He’s active in the Amissville Rescue Squad and the Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association. They divide duties at their Rocky Horse Farm and Antique Shop.
