runners. Stuarts Draft and Luray were running second and third when Jamelle Prudhum made her bid. Jamelle and the runner from Luray passed Stuarts Draft in the final stretch and then Jamelle inched out Luray at the wire to place the mile relay team second.
Two other girls competed for Rappahannock at the state meet. Jennette Beebe and Liz Freeman performed well in the discus throw and the 880 yard run but did not place.
