FireRescue
The Sperryville Rescue Squad transported Mrs. Brown Miller to University Hospital in Charlottesville from her home near Peola Mills on May 15. May 19, this squad brought Mrs. Thomas Leake back to her home from Culpeper Memorial Hospital and May 20, this unit was called to an auto accident on Rt. 231 and carried Tracy Miller of Strasburg and Henry Miller of Madison to Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
May 21, the Sperryville unit took Mrs. Hattie Jackson from Mt. Vernon Stock Farm near Sperryville to Culpeper Memorial Hospital and on May 22, they were called to the Aileen Plant in Hint Hill, though their services were not used.
Also on May 22, the Flint Hill Rescue Squad made three runs. They carried Andrew Lewis from his home in Flint Hill to Warren Memorial Hospital and later that evening returned to the hospital to bring him back to his home; the unit took Mrs. Pullen from the Aileen Plant near Flint Hill to Warren Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Lucy Estes of Washington was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital from her home and back again on May 23 by the Flint Hill squad. Amissville Rescue Squad took Robert Wines to Fauquier Hospital on May 18. Sunday, May 21, Randolph Clater was taken from the baseball field to Fauquier Hospital by this unit. Amissville Fire Company responded to a fire at the home of Patty Webb on Route 613 where the sump pump caused a fire.
Singing Program
The Upper Room Singers of Richmond will present a musical program at Hopewell Baptist Church in Sperryville on Sunday, May 28, at 3 p.m. This program will be sponsored by the Sunday School.
