Four meetings sponsored by the state Welfare Department were held recently to gather public input, but the meetings “didn’t reach the local level,” she said. The Rappahannock Welfare Department was not represented at any of these meetings, the closest of which was held in Falls Church.
“We need to think about doing a better needs assessment here in Rappahannock County,” Mrs. Buntin stated. However, she added that the Welfare Department couldn’t accomplish this “until the general public knows what we’re doing now.”
