During his doctoral studies, he was an instructor at the University, the director of the Woodberry Forest School Summer Reading Program and a consultant to Virginia textbook adoption committees.
Prior to entering graduate school, he taught at Rappahannock County Elementary School, Sperryville and was president of the education association here. Earlier, he served as a writer-photographer for the U.S. Army based in Cu Chi, South Vietnam.
Dr. Graham resides in Massachusetts, where he is an editor at Houghton Mifflin Company. The author of A Present and Historical Analysis of Basal Reading Series, he recently spoke at the annual convention of the International Reading Association in Houston,
