Whenever one reads a newspaper there is someone being quoted on the subject, “children are reading below grade level.” I don’t question many children are reading below grade level, but 1 must raise a question—How many of the parents who are criticizing the schools for the poor job they are doing teaching reading are encouraging their children to read by their own example?
