2 tsp. baking powder
V4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
Cream sugar and shortening. Stir in mashed cooked carrots and beaten egg. Add flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to IS minutes at 375 degrees. These cookies may also be spread with a thin frosting for those who do not especially like carrots.
Memorial Service
A memorial service will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church, Sperryville, this Saturday, May 27, beginning at 7 p.m. The Rev. Windell Grant of Marshall will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited.
