Loomis
Private services were held for Mrs. Viola Marston Loomis. 48. of Sperryville. who died Saturday, December 16, 1978 at her residence after a long illness.
She was a native of Baltimore, Md., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. jidward Marston. She was a retired chief clerk of the Harrisonburg Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court and was a former member of the HarrisonburgRockingham BPW and Memorial Hospital Auxilliarv.
Survivors include her husband, William C.,Loomis Jr. of Sperryville; two daughters. Miss Patricia Ann Loomis of Harrisonburg and Mrs. Sally Loomis Brand of Blacksburg, a son, William C. Loomis III of fjarrisonburg, and two grandchildren.

Banquet
The Bethany Bible Class of Amissville Baptist Church held its annual banquet and installation of officers Dec. I with 19 members and eight guests attending. Mrs. Kirkwood Burke, teacher, installed the new officers in an impressive candlelight service. Outreach leader for 1979 is Mrs. Gloria Mills, who succeeds Mrs. Betty Hitt. Clarence Dodson is assistant leader. Charles Mills, outgoing assistant, gave the prayer of dedication.
The banquet was provided by Mrs. Mart Priest. Mrs. Juanita Settle and other church members.
The class held its Christmas party Dec. 12 at Landfair, the Kirkwood Burkes’ home. Mrs. Mills presided and Mr. Dodson read the Christmas story, followed by a circle of prayer of thanksgiving and praise.
Mrs. Burke presented Betty Hitt with Marjorie Holmes' latest book Lord Make Me Love, and Mr. Mills received The Open Bible.
Gifts were exchanged and refreshments enjoyed.
