The Rappahannock school board set a record for executive sessions last Tuesday, holding a closed meeting from 9:20 p.m. until 2:30 a.m.
At the board’s return to public session, chairman Beverly Massie announced decisions reached after closeting for five and one half hours:
—to handle a student admission administratively.
—to expel one student.
—to allow a student to return to school after a 14 day suspension but with conditions that he attend alcohol abuse counseling with one parent and be barred from all extra-curricular activities for the remainder of the term,
—to allow another student to return to school after a 12 day suspension with the conditions that he attend drug abuse counseling with one parent and be barred from all extra-curricular activities for the remainder of the term,
—to give the custodian at the high school “extra renumeration.”
