As for those plants being some sort of horticultural frill—1 think that’s nonsense.
I wouldn't have bought all those hanging planters, brackets, bags of potting soil, and rope with money out of my own pocket if I’d thought that.
These things could have been provided by school funds had they stretched that far. In the same way. school monies could have purchased the long customized watering hose used to water those plants. (The hose needs to be long in order to reach the faucet in the room across the hall since there’s no water supply in the biology room.)
Most of the plants themselves were gifts from interested parents and friends. The rest were paid for out of the teacher’s pocket.
I think we are all aware that there are problems in our county schools. Money can’t solve all of them. But yes. Mr. Mundy. there’s no reason it shouldn’t be considered once in awhile.
