MILLER’S POLL-Fifty-six percent of the Rappahannock respondents to Sen. Nathan H. Miller’s poll on issues before the 1980 General Assembly favored increasing the state's gasoline tax.
The percentage was the same on the question of gun registration: 56 percent for registration. 44 percent against.
Sen. Miller (RHarrisonburg) represents Rappahannock. Culpeper. Madison. Page and Rockingham counties and the city of Harrisonburg.

Apple Pomace
A number of beef cattle producers in the Shenandoah Valley use apple pomace as beef cattle feed. This byproduct of the fruit industry has a feeding value similar to grass silage and is well liked by cattle.
