I can’t get over the reaction people can have for something as unfortunate as the fire at the Amissville fire house just last Thursday, Feb. 14.
In just the past few days I have heard numerous complaints of being inconvenienced and even going so far as to say. “Tough! I’ve contributed my share already.”
There will, no doubt, be several of us who will be inconvenienced for a while now as a result of this fire. M.*t us not forget that this loss is not just a problem for the fire department, but it should be of great concern to everyone this organization serves. Now, more than ever before, this department needs people who want to work and give of their time to a very worthy cause.
To just drive past the building it doesn't really appear damaged at all. I couldn't believe the sight when I took a tour inside. Walls blackened with soot, floors with patches on holes made by pieces of the ceiling that fell, every wire burned. i_i_u..
