“Where in the budget can we find $2,900?” asked Mrs. Massie.

“At this time. I can't project a category or line item (with a $2,900 surplus)." answered Dr. Bloomer, suggesting that the board consider asking the supervisors for an additional appropriation.

A motion to buy the buses was approved unanimously. “And we will find the money in the budget." Mrs. Massie added.

Public Session

In the public portion of last Tuesday's meeting, the school board approved a senior class trip to New York City, scheduled for late May.

Doug Nichols told the board that the seniors plan to take a bus tour of New York, see Broadway plays and tour the United Nations. The group will stay at the Sheraton City Squire, arriving late Friday afternoon. May 23. and leaving early Sunday. Ratio of chaperones to students will be one to eight and students will be accompanied by chaperones at all times during the trip, according to Nichols.
