By unanimous vote at vlonday's board meeting, the Rappahannock supervisors lamed former elementary ichool principal Mary Botts ^uaintance as tie breaker for he county school board.
The action came in response to new state law which took effect October 1. Formerly, Sperryville attorney James W. Fletcher served as the official tiebreaker for all local governing bodies. Under the new law, the entity responsible for school board appointments—in this case, the supervisors—must choose - a school board tie breaker separate from the individual who fills that capacity for the board of supervisors.
