Limit Changed
The United States Department of Agriculture will reduce the allowable limits for resources in the Food Stamp Program from $1750 to S1500 effective October 1.
Allowable resources are money in checking and saving accounts, U. S. savings bonds, stocks and bonds, property, and pleasure craft. This change is the result of the 1980 amendments to the Good Stamp Act of 1977 that were passed this summer by the U. S. Congress. The $3000 maximum resource level for two person households, in which at least one person is over 60 years of age, will remain the same.
