Ticking off the kind of harassment Sperryville visitors. residents and merchants have to endure. Sheriff Buntin reported that windows have been shot out of both Lester Deal’s gift shop and the Corner Store, that a picnic tabt^from the Emporium was torn up and thrown in the Thornton River' and that hoodlums climb up on the Comer Store roof to throw gravel at passing cars. In addition, there have been numerous reports of idlers blocking traffic on Route S22 in town and yelling abusive language at motorists.
Buntin said that troublemakers have been taken to court on trespass charges three or four times with no results, primarily because of questions over property lines. He maintained that the harassment would cease if “that bunch” could be moved from the intersection in the center of town. “It’s already against the law to throw rocks at cars or to trespass,’’ countered Johnson. “That’s right but we have to catch them,” Buntin replied. “Just the point of passing
