Jack Bruce interjected that the supervisors can check Page County’s dog pound if they want to see a facility that meets the new state regulations. ‘Tve heard it said that the tightest people in the world are in Page County but they’ve had their pound for years." Bruce said.
In addition, he noted that Page employs both a warden and a deputy with the warden paid approximately SI 1.000 per year. "1 don’t know where their money’s coming from." he concluded.
Luke reemphasized his objections to the new pound regulations, this time describing them as ‘‘absolutely ridiculous.”
”1 would suspect Mr. Bruce is taking care of those dogs pretty well.” added Wood.
Rappahannock County already has "an adequate solution to the problem” of stray dogs. Luke concluded, dismissing the state specifications.
