Joyce Stark had the reserve grand championship female at 225 lbs. She also won a second place award for another one of her hogs.
David Beck earned a fourth place ribbon for a 200lb. hog, and Charlotte Magee won a second place ribbon for her 120-lb. lamb.
4-H Day and
Overnight Camps
Here in Rappahannock County, area 4-H’ers enjoyed themselves at 4-H Day Camp at Hazel River and at overnight camp at Powell’s Fort this summer. The day camp provided activities such as archery, swimming and other outdoor sports as wellas crafts and nature lore for the kids.
4-H Horse Clinic
Early in September, young members of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club impressed their parents with a demonstration of the skills learned at the 4-H club clinic. The youngsters who participated received training* in the care and handling of horses as well as specific techniques.
