NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF A PROPOSED REVISION IN ELECTRIC RATES BY THE POTOMAC EDISON COMPANY
The Potomac Edison Company (“Potomac Edison” or “Company”) has filed with the State Corporation Commission documents to show the financial condition of its electric operations for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980. Hie documents were filed in compliance with the Commission’s program of reviewing the financial condition of all electric public service companies, including Potomac Edison, on an annual basis.
Additionally, Potomac Edison has filed with the Commission a proposed increase in electric rates to produce additional annual gross revenues of $3,663,200 based on its operations for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980. The Company states that the revised rates would produce a 9.1 percent increase in gross base rate revenues based on its existing rates as of December 31,1980. The Commission's Staff will investigate Company’s report on its finahcial condition for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980, and the proposed increase in rates of $3,663,200 and will file a report by June 8,1981.
Any interested party may review Company’s report on the financial condition of its electric operations for the twelve months ended December 31, 1980, together with the proposed revision in electric rates, during regular business hours at the Commission’s Document Control Center, Public Inquiry, Jefferson Building, Richmond, Virginia, or at any Company office where bills may be paid.
The Commission has scheduled a public hearing on the proposed increase in rates before a Hearing Examiner for 1:30 p.m. on June 15, 1981, in the Commission’s 13th Floor Courtroom, Jefferson Building, Bank and Governor Streets, Richmond, Virginia. Any person wishing to make a statement on his own behalf, either for or against the application, need only to appear in the Courtroom at the time of the hearing. Such person need not prefile any testimony. Or, if the person wishes to comment in writing on the application, each written comment shall be filed with the Commission on or before June 8,1981. All persons intending to present witnesses, crossexamine witnesses, submit evidence, or otherwise participate in this proceeding as Protestants, in accordance with the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure, shall file with the Document Control Center an original and fifteen copies of a Protest on or before June 8,1981. The Protest shall, at a minimum, set forth the interest of the Protestant in this case, statement of the facts which the Protestant is prepared to prove, and the statement of the relief or decision which the Protestant wishes made. Any party filing as a Protestant should indicate if they desire Potomac Edison to send that party a copy of the report of its financial condition and its proposed rates, together with supporting documents, and also indicate if a copy of the Staffs report is desired.
