The Thunderbird Museum and Archeological Park will hold its Second Annual Open House on- Sunday, May 17th between the hours of 10 a.m. and S p.m. The open house is in honor of National Museum Day, and this year the * MMlt offers free Tff1 mission for all residents of the' following counties: Garke, Culpeper, Fauquier, Frederick, Loudoun, Madison, Page, Prince William, Rappahannock, Shenandoah and Warren.

Activities for the Open House will include stone toolmaking by Dr. R. Michael Stewart; and, an archery demonstration by members of the Two Rivers Archery Gub under the direction of Jimmy “Rattlesnake" Kimble.

Meeting Notice

The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association will meet Friday, May IS, at 7:30 p.m. at the Chester Gap fire hall. All members are urged to attend.

Carnival

The Remington Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department will kick off the 1981 carnival season with four nights of events beginning May 13 at the grounds behind Margaret Pierce School.

I In addition to a variety of rides and games, the carnival features a parade at 7 p.m. and ham dinner Friday. The firemen will also sponsor a $100 give-away each night of the carnival and winners must be present. This year’s grand prize a 1961 Pontiac Sunbird, will be given away Saturday night. The queen of the carnival will also be crowned on the carnival’s final night.
