participated in the Region B Track Meet.
The girls’ team placed 5th overall out of 14 schools, and results are as follows: Discus: Tammy Atkins, Marie Davis, Donna Gore - 3rd, 4th, 5th, respectively: Shot Put: Mary Jordan 5th; High Jump: Johanna Day placed 2nd in a three way tie; 100 meter hurdles: Kim Williams placed 5th; 100 meter dash: Allison Best was 4th; 800 meter relay: our team consisting of: Laura Tupper, Crystol Porter, Raynetta Gheen placed 4th; Long Jump and 200 meter-dash • Crystol Porter, 4th and 5th respectively; 2 mile run: Sharon Scott, 5th; 400 Meter Relay: our team consisting of Best, Porter, Gheen, and Williams again broke the school record with the time of 53.7.
The boys' track team was 9th overall. Those who placed were: Shot Put; Tim Williams, 5th with 43 yds. 2V* inches; 100 Meter Dash; Eugene Grisby, 6th; High Jump; Chris Foster and Doyle Dunn, 3rd and 4th respectively.
Those individuals will be attending and participating in the State A Track Meet in Crozet at West Albemarle High School Saturday, May 16.
On Friday, May 8, the senior class went to Kings Dominion to attend Graduate “nite” 81. Fiftythree seniors spent six hours in the park enjoying rides, browsing through shops, and attending concerts. Although the weather turned extremely cold before the night was over, everyone enjoyed themselves. The senior class would like to thank the chaperones, Mr. Patterson, Mrs. Bristol and Mr. and Mrs. Mills for all their help in making the trip a success.
