Additional funds are available, however, for projects in communities with less than 3,500 population and for projects other than traditional sewage treatment plants, he said, making it possible for Sperryville to get 85-90 percent funding.
Wilson said that the SWCB has set aside $1,417,000 from EPA for construction of Sperryville’s treatment facility. But the. bad news is that funds will not be available until federal fiscal year 1983 and funding then is still uncertain.
The prospects for receiving federal money from EPA are “fairly bleak,” Wilson acknowledged, noting that the Reagan administration plans to cut waste water treatment allocations from a total of $4.5 billion
