The SWCB'S "tentative plan’’ is to propose funding for Sperryville for fiscal year 1963, the federal fiscal year which begins in October, 1982, Wilson reported. On that basis, $1,417 million has been earmarked for the project by the SWCB.
In addition, he noted that Sperryville, as a small community with population under $3,500, qualifies for special set aside funds which can be used for sewer construction projects.
Steve Hogye, director of the Northern Regional Office’s Division of Water Control Management, added that four percent of the state's money for sewer projects is set aside for funding facilities with innovative, alternative design, another area where Sperryville' may qualify. Considering this factor plus the community’s high ranking as a health hazard and its small population, “1 think the SWCB will look favorably on your proposal,”
