Rappahannock Now. Pfcoto/S. Latham APPLE TIME IN RAPPAHANNOCK—Apple harvest has already begun on earlier varieties, but there is still much to be done, including spraying. Eddie Mallory drives the tractor and operates the pressure sprayer which fans the heavy mist over the trees, a solution to prevent apples from dropping too soon. After the harvest there is the continuous task of picking up the drops and then into the dormant stages of the trees which will need priming. This scene was in the Moore Orchard near Flint Hill.
