A stiff wind coupled with an early taste of August humidity kept times below the course record as Larry Forrester broke the tape in Saturday's 10-kilometer Fodderstack Classic 36 minutes and 51 seconds after the starter’s gun sounded in Flint Hill.
A temporary resident of the county. Forrester is here as a teacher with students from the Cambridge School of Weston Massachusetts on an off-campus study program. The group is staying for the month at a cabin on Lake Whippoorwill just outside of Washington. Although Forrester has raced previously in national level events, including the Boston Marathon, the Fodderstack was his first competition in three years.
