Senior pitcher Lee Anderson picked up a lough loss but managed to hold Monroe’s cleanup hitter Dwight Brill hitless in four trips to the plate. The Panthers’ next game is Friday, April 23, at home against Page County. The public is urged to come out and cheer for the team. The support would be greatly appreciated.

Wins Opener
Rappahannock's soccer team posted a win in the season opener played Saturday at Taylor Junior High School in Warrenton, defeating Smith Cattle Guard, 2-1.
All the scoring came in the First half. Doug McCabe booted the first goal on an assist from Aaron Schumaler following Jon McCullough’s throw-in. Smith Cattle Guard scored next on a penalty shot. McCabe took the following kick-off and passed to Schumaker who dribbled the length of the field for a tally.
Tony Capuroscio filled in for regular coaches Howard Coon and Dennis Fairbrothei who were running in the annual Fodderstack road race. The Rappahannock team, which plays in the Warren Junior High League under the sponsorship o Nature’s Focids, will mee another opponent thi; Saturday at the Taylor schoo field.
