Ten dancers aod five singers, most of them from Rappahannock, perform in “Length of Childhood.” Nan Smith. Davette Leonard, Greg Foster and Sherry Albrecht accompany the dancers with Appalachian hymns, lyrics rewritten by Carla Eugster to reflect the action on stage. The singers are under tbe direction of Beth Bollinger of Flint Hill.

Nash reports that Last Minute Wood Company has been invited to present “Length of Childhood" at the Washington Project for the Arts, one of the major dance showcases in D.C. “We’re very pleased we were asked,” said the choreographer, noting that competition for an invitation from the Washington Project is fierce. As part of Last Minute Wood’s appearance there, Nash will also conduct a workshop on improvisational techniques. Rappahannock's dance troupe has won another competitive invitation as well.
