The Thunderbird Research Corporation announces its one week archeological field schools for the summer in 1982. TTie archeological excavation program is designed for the interested lay person and anyone 15 years of age or older is eligible to apply.
Participants will learn archeological field techniques, laboratory procedures, and site surveying. They will also be introduced to the prehistory of Virginia and the surrounding areas of North America. The 1982 excavations will be held at one or more prehistoric sites which contain evidence of Native American occupation from about 10,000 BC to 1650 AD. Professional archeologists will provide the instruction and will supervise all excavation work.
Headquarters for the programs will be the Thunderbird Museum & Archeological Park which is located along the South Fork of the Shenandoah River about seven miles south of Front Royal. Virginia. Crew
