Each time a position is cut, the children lose the inspiration of devoted and creative teachers, like Laurie Marshall of the gifted and talented program in Rappahannock. Another root dries up.
Each time dedicated and beloved teachers and administrators like Dennis Wingfield are forced to leave the profession, more roots shrivel and die.
Public education is our national defense and our future, the roots of our freedom. Without roots, even a great tree cannot provide fruit or shade. Will our generation finally kill it?
