Fifth grader Daniel Lysik won the only superior rating for the group with his performance of "The Drummer Boy” on the snare drum. Earning II plus marks were eighth grader Jane Kidwell for her flute rendition of “Valse Petite.” sixth grader Elizabeth Jenkins on clarinet doing “Jolly Viking,” seventh grader Tom Massie on trumpet for “Iliad” and sixth grader Sean Wayland, also on trumpet for “Fanfare and Ceremony March.”
Receiving II ratings were Kelly Brown on snare drum for ‘‘Caissons Go Rolling Along,” Leslie Nichols on clarinet for “Arioso” and Kelli Sisk on saxophone for “Blue Lagoon.” All are sixth graders.
Fifth grader Fred Ausberry earned a III rating for his rendition of “Silver Skate Waltz” on trombone.
