Russell Sutphin Born In Flint Hill Elder W. Russell Sutphin, 73, of Winchester, died Sunday, March 27, 1983, in Winchester Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester by the Rev. Ernest M. Long. Burial was in Mount Hebron Cemetery. Elder Sutphin was bom February 19, 1910, in Flint Hill, the son of the late William Lewis and Bertha Martm iutphin. Prior to retirement, he was employed at «V inchester Cold Storage. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Purcellville, He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Brumback Sutphin; three sons, Charles W. Sutphin, J. C. Sutphin and Robert L. Sutphin, all of Winchester; one daughter, Cathy W. Sutphin of Winchester; one brother, Raymond M. Sutphin of Flint Hill; one sister, Rebecca S. Donaldson of Rockville, Md. and two grandchildren. Lewis Hickman Bath County Native Lewis Wesley Hickman, 50, of Amissville died on Saturday, March 26, 1983, as the result of an automobile accident on Rt. 729. A native of Bath County, he was the son of the late Gary and Virginia Louise Hice Hickman. He had lived in Amissville for about four years. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean Mines Hickman; two sons, Lewis Wesley Hickman, Jr. and James Robert Hickman, both of Amissville; three daughters, Mrs. Norma Stringfellow of Rixeyville, Virginia Louise Hickman and Pamela Ann Hickman, both of Amissville; two brothers, James Mack Hickman and William Carson Hickman, both of Warm Springs and four sisters, Mrs. Leroy Ryder of Warm Springs, Mrs. Mabel Dean of Richmond, Mrs. Gladys Gillespie of Manassas and Mrs. Elsie Keys of Florida. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at the Chimney Run Church in Bath County with burial at Cleek Cemetery there.
