The Panthers’ defense fell apart in the bottom of the fifth inning, allowing three Page runners to score for a 4-0 advantage.
Hopes were high when Pops Aylor stepped up to the plate with one out and the bases loaded. Aylor had been in the same situation last week at home against Page in the season opener and hit a grand slam homer to win the game. But unfortunately, he wasn’t able to repeat his heroics on Saturday and he hit into a double play to retire the side.
Page continued to score in the sixth inning off a sacrifice fly to set the mark at 5-0. They added the icing on the cake with a three run homer in the final inning.
Rappahannock finished the contest with eight strikeouts and three hits.
The RCHS Panthers face their first Bull Run District opponents on Friday when they go against the George Mason Mustangs at home.
New Hours
for Welfare
The Rappahannock Welfare Department announces a change in office hours to 8:00 to 4:30.
Lunch will be reduced to a half hour - from 12:30 to 1:00.
These hours will be effective April 1.
