Supervisor H. B. Wood confirmed this week that he will not be a candidate for the Stonewall-Hawthome seat in the November 8 elections.

Instead, the contest will pit Sean Kilpatrick, who plans to make improvements to the county’s educational system a central focus of his campaign, against Nelson Lane, member of the Rappahannock County School Board for the past three years.

(In last week’s issue, the Rappahannock News reported that Wood, a 12-year veteran of the board of supervisors, would seek reelection. The announcement came as the result of a misunderstanding on the part of the paper.)
