The Amissville Firemen’s carnival is now underway. The parade will be held Friday night at 7:00 p.m., the crowning of the queen will be Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. Come out and support your local fire company.
Recent dinner guests of Mrs. Ethel Cooksey were Rev. A. C. Walker, Edward Richards of Palm Beach, Florida, Lewis Nelson and John Emeigh of Washington, D. C.
Rev. Steve Parker, Sandra and Suzanne traveled to Altavista, Va. Friday to attend the funeral of Mrs. Mary Pugh, aunt of Sandra’s.
Mrs. Margaret Stover celebrated her birthday Saturday with a cookout, those attending were Wallace Stover, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Oliver, and Sandy, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burrough, Lloyd Bywaters, Doris Rutherford, and Dorothy Oliver all of Amissville, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Stover, Heather of Front Royal, Mr. and Mrs. Denver Hoffman of Warrenton.
