The May 20th edition of the Rappahannock News carried an excellent article concerning the former mountain people. It may be that I am prejudiced for the basis of the story was formed by interviews which I had done for the Shenandoah National Park. Your paper made skillful use of the interesting facts in those tapes.
Far too little is known about these fine former mountain people. It was for this reason that I wrote a book which is in the process of being published. "Recollections, the People of the Blue Ridge Remember.” This book utilized the 140 interviews which 1 completed for the Shenandoah National Park. Sometime in August, when my book is published, I will be most happy to send you a copy, should you be interested.
