Mrs. Bertie Katherine Atkins, 79, of Sperrvville, died Saturday, June 4, 1983, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted at Beach Spring Baptist Church near Sperryville on Tuesday by the Rev. John K. Burke, Jr. and Rev. Kirby L. Shenk. Burial was in the Sperryville Cemetery.
Mrs. Atkins was a native of Rappahannock County and was the daughter of the late Jake and Hattie Jenkins Dodson. She was a member of Beach Spring Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ebb M. Atkins of Sperryville; six daughters, Miss Elsie M. Atkins, Miss Ruth Atkins, Mrs. Jane Baker and Mrs. Juanita Atkins, all of Sperryville, Mrs. Minnie Pullen of Washington and Mrs. Annie Huff of Flint Hill; four sons, Ebb Atkins, Jr. of Woodbridge, George Atkins, Malhon Atkins and Huey Atkins, all of Sperryville; 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Nellie Dodson of Culpeper and three brothers, William Dodson of Leon, Roy Dodson of Brightwood and Tommy Dodson of Waynesboro.
Pallbearers were Charles Dodson, Jake Dodson, John Dodson, Doug Dodson, Wilson Dodson, Richard Dodson, Ray Dodson and McArthur Dodson.
Clore Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
