ture to be seen in the rooms are mementos of Phil Irwin’s many years with the Voice of America in Washington, D.C., as well as with the Armed Forces Network (AFN) in Germany and a number of auto racing trophies. In addition to being a producer of black Angus cattle, Phil Irwin is a model railroader and many of his miniature trains are on display.
Additional houses on the tour are Heritage House in Washington, home of James and Nancy Thomasson and the home of Eino and Celine Siira, located about five miles west of Washington in Old Hollow. Tea will be served both afternoons at the Siira home.
Tickets are $5.00 for the tour of all three houses and tea and $2.00 for individual houses. These may be obtained at the tour houses or at tour headquarters at Trinity Church in Washington.
Also open during the weekend will by Miss Ruby Jenkins’ Washington Museum which shows life as it was in the county in the late 18th and 19th centuries. (The museum has been featured in both the Virginian Magazine and Country Magazine); the Rappahannock Historical Society Building and the Rappahannock Library.
